How manatcoy Came to Be
manatcoy was established in Bangkok after its founder spent several years working in pension administration and legal advisory roles across Southeast Asia. The recurring observation during that period was that many individuals with mixed or international careers were holding incomplete pension records without being fully aware of it — and that the administrative burden of correcting them often fell entirely on the client, with little practical support.
The practice was set up specifically to address this gap. Rather than offering a broad range of legal services, manatcoy focuses exclusively on pension record matters, which allows the team to develop a depth of experience in a field that most generalist law offices treat as a minor administrative task.
The office operates from Ratchathewi, Bangkok, and serves clients across Thailand and internationally. Work is conducted in English, and the team has experience with pension documentation from European, North American, and Asian jurisdictions.
The name Manat refers to the Thai concept of considered deliberation — acting only after careful thought. This is the spirit in which every matter is approached, regardless of how straightforward or complex the record appears at first.

Pension Record Work in the Thai and International Context
Pension record discrepancies are more common than most clients expect. In Thailand, the Social Security Office maintains individual contribution accounts, but the records are built from employer and self-employed declarations over the course of a career. Periods of transition between employment categories, short-term contracts, or informal self-employment are particularly prone to administrative gaps.
For clients who have worked outside Thailand — whether in Europe, Japan, Australia, or elsewhere — additional complexity arises from the different recording systems used by each jurisdiction, and from the bilateral social security agreements or totalisation conventions that may or may not apply to their specific situation. Understanding these provisions, and knowing how to make a coherent written submission that brings all of the records into a single picture, requires focused experience rather than general legal knowledge.
manatcoy has developed this focused experience through years of work with pension authorities in Thailand and in correspondence with authorities in other countries. The practice keeps up with changes in Thai social security regulations and maintains familiarity with the administrative procedures of the jurisdictions most commonly encountered in the cross-border work.
